The New Orleans Junior Journalism Program

The New Orleans Junior Journalism Program prepares and inspires local youth for careers in print, photography, online and broadcast media by providing real-world experience covering and producing local news and live events while creating original content, under the editorial guidance of professional mentors and with publishing opportunities with participating media and event partners.

JRNOLA.org recruits middle and high school students with aspirations in the journalism field through multiple ad-hoc channels. All students are admitted into the program based on an application and submission of writing samples.

Every student, regardless of discipline or skill level, must submit a writing sample for acceptance, and each is required to write regularly for continued participation in the program.
