Speak Up for a Foster Child: Give a Kid a CASA

Foster children are among the most vulnerable members of our community. Faced with the uncertainty and disappointment that comes from being uprooted from home, school, family and friends, they become part of an overburdened dependency system and, too often, slip through the cracks. 

Child Advocates of Silicon Valley recruits, trains and supports Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) to serve as mentors, friends and advocates to foster children. CASAs provide critical emotional and educational support, ensuring that each child's needs are met and their voice heard while navigating the court dependency system. 

This year, Child Advocates will serve approximately 840, of Santa Clara County’s foster children. That means there are hundreds of abused and neglected children navigating life in the foster system alone- without the benefit of a stable adult presence in their life.
