About King County Equity Now.
King County Equity Now (KCEN) is a pro-Black 501(c) 4 nonprofit focused on advocacy and research for equity and equality for black causes in the entire state of Washington. We have over 70,000 stakeholders statewide. We develop, advocate, and research for the black community to own and control the resources and systems that impact Black lives.
Some of the causes that we advocate for are education, low-income and affordable housing, eliminating gun violence against our community, healthcare, regaining property in our communities, economic development, generational wealth, prison reform and re-entry, food security, equity in cannabis, and many other causes.
We are Black-led, Black-centered, and birthed out of a deep legacy of Black community advocates and leaders to support Black & aligned causes in the entire state of Washington State.
