At Africatown Community Land Trust, we've been working hard to have equitable development in our community. The Liberty Bank Building was the first development project we partnered on. We used our community voice to ensure it maximized black contractor participation, brought displaced families back to the Central District, and provided below-market rate commercial space for black legacy businesses to grow and thrive in place.
With the success of LBB, we now embark upon our next project; Africatown Plaza, affordable housing with over 130 rental units and below-market rate commercial space. ACLT has ownership in this project and it'll be the first for us. Our team is working hard to secure the remaining funding needed, and we need your help!
