SideWalk is a volunteer operated organization on a mission to end homelessness in Thurston County.
Communities around the country are paving the road to the end of homelessness. Some have reduced homelessness by up to 50% in just a few short years.SideWalk brings the best practices of these communities to Thurston County. We are a volunteer operated service center for homeless adults and we aim to end homelessness by combining grass-roots community engagement with the best of research-driven practices.SideWalk's "Rapid Rehousing" and "Rapid Re-Entry" programs - which provide clients with a small amount of rental assistance followed by support services to promote stability - placed over 170 homeless or at risk individuals into permanent, private-market housing in 2013.
