Ending homelessness in Olympia one donation at a time
SideWalk is a volunteer driven evidence based and cost effective rapid re-housing program. It is not long-term subsidized housing. Helps pay one-time deposits for rent and utilities, for example. Average total cost per client is $1,200.
SideWalk has taken about 400 people off the streets in Olympia in two years. Follow up studies show 90% were still in their homes one year later.
