Thank you for your gifts that will finish and furnish the Commons and make it available for program use early next year! We will keep this campaign open until we meet the total funds needed. Thanks for your support!
The decision to move forward with Commons construction during the pandemic offered us a chance to expand our hosting capacity during a rare gap in hosting and has given us a new, beautiful space for the work of healing ourselves, our communities, and our planet. Nonetheless, construction during the pandemic brought with it some challenges and unavoidable cost increases. We need your support to complete this keystone project in our WI 2020 Capacity Building Campaign.
Due to supply chain shortages during the pandemic, materials costs for this project rose by $110,000. Our team engineered out $35,000, leaving us with $75,000 still needed to complete this multi-purpose space. Can you help us close the gap and finish purchasing furnishings, patio, landscaping, A/V, kitchen island, and light fixtures?
Since breaking ground on January 14, 2021, the new Commons building has rapidly taken shape! In early April, we got a glimpse of its silhouette as the first wall was lifted into place. Today, it is nearly complete—just requiring furnishings, hardscape and landscape installation, kitchen and bathroom completion, A/V systems, and a few finishing touches.
We are so excited to see this beautiful, multi-purpose gathering space taking form. The Commons will provide welcoming space for program participants and volunteers, and substantially increase our capacity for transformational hosting. Thank you for your support with completion of this project!
Give online or mail a check to Whidbey Institute, PO Box 57 Clinton, WA 98236 and we will add your gift to this campaign.
