Welcome to EdNet.  This is an open forum exploring questions around issues of compassion and education.  We will be hearing from individuals and organizations who are exploring new ways of thinking and acting globally.  We are opening the 2022 series with Jody McVittie.

Jody McVittie has been working to shift school systems away from a compliance model toward on in which everyone is treated with dignity and respect. To reach this ambitious goal, adults must shift their mindset about how to respond to young people (and sometimes adults peers) who do not yet have the skills or capacity to be helpful not hurtful. She will share how focusing on brain science and trauma informed practices have invited more compassion into schools and how, gradually, the systems are shifting to invite both the adults and young people to access more of their humanity.
