The Nashville Scene has been serving our city for three decades and counting.A strong, independent voice, the Scene covers news, music, film, food, art, culture, and state and local politics in a way that only we can — with hard news, creative feature writing, long-form reporting, analysis and criticism that serves a diverse readership, and does so with a voice. With your monetary support, we're able to pay for staff salaries, freelance fees, photos and illustrations, supplies and much more. Now, more than a year since the pandemic began, we’re asking you, our supporters, to help us continue our mission by becoming a member or making a donation. Without Nashville, there is no Scene.

We thank you for your support and for your time. And as always, we thank you for reading.

We have two membership levels available, each with perks for joining our team. Want to contribute on a different level? Enter your own amount under the "contribute" button. All donations of more than $500 annually will receive all of the member benefits listed, as well as an invitation to our annual Meet the Scene Staff breakfast.

By making a donation, you're helping the Scene survive. Here are some examples of where your dollars will go.

$5: The cost of batteries for a reporter’s digital voice recorder — whether we’re recording our interviews with the mayor, the governor, the head of the Democratic Party, or musicians like Jack White, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, The Black Keys or Kacey Musgraves.

$25: The cost of one Critic's Pick — we publish roughly 100 of these every month, offering our readers a first look at Nashville's best concerts, art shows, museum exhibits, food events and more.

$29: The cost of an annual subscription to AP Stylebook, ensuring that every bit of writing we bring you — from blog posts and Critics’ Picks to cover stories and long-form reported features in our City Limits section — is clean, clear and accurate.

$70.20: The cost it takes to print one copy of each issue for a year — that’s 52 weeks' worth of music, food, film and arts criticism, not to mention our coverage of state and local news and politics.

$175: The cost of sending a photographer and a writer to cover a concert for our long-running review column, The Spin.
