As an endurance athlete, Mark has a passion for seeing others become or remain physically active. Through Amputee Blade Runners (ABR), he heard about Samuel (below) and his love of sports. Inspired by Samuel's drive to run just as long and as hard as his teammates, Mark knew he had to get involved with ABR. He wanted to do something to help future ABR grant recipients achieve and maintain their physically active livestyles, just as Samuel's sports prosthetics have helped him stay active.
Mark met Samuel and his family on their recent trip to Nashville, and got to share the news that Samuel was his inspiration for choosing to fundraise for Amputee Blade Runners!

The cost for Amputee Blade Runners to provide someone with a running leg is around $3,000. Mark's goal is to raise $12,000 to provide four (4) more amputees the chance to become or remain physically active! Running and sports legs are essential for amputees to live active lives. For instance, Samuel was feeling significant pain with his old legs. He even had to wear a helmet while playing sports due to instability. Now with his sports legs, Samuel is pain free! He no longer wears a helmet, which has boosted his confidence with friends and teammates.
Mollyanne and Alex are two ABR athletes who will be receiving a running prosthetic thanks in part to your donations! Alex is from Metarie, Louisiana and is looking forward to competing in track & field. Mollyanne is from Bentonville, Arkansas and is currently training to run a half marathon! Are you sure?
