Freedom Festival 5K
The goal of the 2025 Freedom Festival 5K is to provide a community event to bring people together from both within and outside of Star Valley, promote health and fitness, create another event as part of the Afton Freedom Festival, and to benefit Amputee Blade Runners, a nonprofit that provides free running/sports legs to active amputees throughout the country. In support of this event, we are working with local businesses, churches, community organizations to use this race as both a way to promote tourism and local businesses in Afton and Star Valley, as well as a fundraiser for the Amputee Blade Runners. All money from entry fees, donations, and sponsorship beyond race expenses will go to the Amputee Blade Runners.

About Amputee Blade Runners:
ABR is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit with a mission to help lower limb different athletes of all ages reimagine what is possible in sports and in life. ABR provides prosthetic education, equipment, and empowerment to active amputees throughout the United States.
Health insurance companies have deemed running legs to be "not medically necessary" and do not cover the cost. When a local prosthetic company gave our co-founder, Ryan Fann, his first running leg after high school, the world opened up. It's precisely that opportunity that inspired Aaron Fitzsimmons and Ryan Fann - two prosthetists - to found ABR in 2011.
Our organization helps lower limb amputees live an active lifestyle by providing this vital equipment free of charge. We have provided services to athletes in 40 states who serve as ambassadors to other amputees.
Can’t race but still want to support Amputee Blade Runners? You can donate directly to ABR using the Donation link above!
