Orchestra Next, resident orchestra with the Eugene Ballet Company, provides mentorship to more than 100 aspiring musicians every year from some of the most reputable professional musicians in the Pacific Northwest. ON's model is simple: provide live music for the ballet, place students next to professionals, pay everyone, keep administrative costs low, curate excellence, and have fun.
Last year, Orchestra Next brought live music to events with audiences totalling more than 17,000. ON has the lowest administrative costs in the business and prioritizes musicians. It's no wonder that the Register Guard said "Orchestra Next is a great example of doing more with less." We are creative, collaborative, innovative, and we play our hearts out!
Orchestra Next's 2016/17 Season includes:
All donations are tax-deductible and help support live music at the ballet AND the mentorship and training of musicians in our area.

*Raise the Barre*
People magazine chooses Raising the Barre as a best new book, calling it “eloquent, funny and…inspiring.” This is Lauren Kessler's incredible story of her "midlife quest to dance The Nutcracker." This particular copy that we are offering, is a collector's edition and signed copy. It is the paperback version sent to media for reviews prior to publishing and is not available in stores. These kinds of editions are often sold for hundreds of dollars but its yours with your monthly contribution of $25!

*DVD of ED's COED*
Ed's Coed is the first silent film ever made by students. And it happened to be made by students at the UO in 1927! This not-available-in-stores DVD was made as an archival print of the film for UO and features a new score by Brian McWhorter and that features some of ON's principal players including Lisa McWhorter on violin and Tyler Abbott on bass. Here's a short clip showing Ed coming to school for the first time.

*UNLEASHED by KENJI BUNCH*
Kenji Bunch is the composer for our new production of The Snow Queen. The piece is the longest commissioned work for an orchestra in Oregon's history! You can support this project by choosing this album of contemporary music for viola as your perk.
