52nd Annual Olcott, NY Olcott Polar Bear ‘Swim For Sight’

Support The Oldest Polar Bear Plunge In NY And Help Thousands

WNY's MOST FAMOUS POLAR BEAR SWIM IS BACK

One of the most fun and worthiest events in WNY is the famed Olcott Polar Bear 'Swim for Sight.' Normally occuring the first Sunday, every March, it was postponed due to what we've all been dealing with.

Each year it has helped thousands of people and over a dozen wonderful not-for profits, devastated by this past year's pandemic. It has raised hundreds of thousands dollars over the now 52 years of the event. It is also the oldest charity swim/plunge in New York. Register today for this year's Olcott Polar Bear 'Swim for Sight' and if you can't participate help people by sponsoring them or donating directly to the swim/plunge by going to either olcottlions.org or swimforsight.com and clicking on the donate button.

This year we have adjusted the swim to comply with any and all health regulations at the time if the swim to keep everyone (participants and spectators) safe. Activities will start at 10am with swimmers entering the water in organized groups earlier than past swim in small groups, wearing masks (if required by Niagara County at that time). It will include practicing social distancing, predicated on CDC guidelines at the time of the swim.

With continued progress in vaccinations we feel confident we can manage a successfully safe swim for the entire family.  Many organized events that split up crowds will also take place for spectators and participants alike. With afternoon long events, including a costume contest, Niagara County Fire Company's tug of war, music, tons of food, vendors, parade, Polar Bear Queen and King contest, and the actual swim itself, we'll also have a couple of special extra things for participants.

Oh, and the more money you raise as a swimmer, the more you help others, and the more merch you get. Including, t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, and more.
