Most of you know by now how much this means to me... it is that time of year again when I get my fat ass off the couch for just one day and do the Quinn 5K to support my dear friends The Linzer family who lost their beautiful baby girl Quinn to the Niemann Pick Type A disease several year ago. They have since dedicated their lives running an organization in Quinn's honor to grant wishes to other kids with rare diseases and do research toward prevention.
The Quinn Madeleine Foundation is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit charity. Wholly volunteer run, QMF seeks to aid in the prevention of Niemann-Pick Disease Type A, a rare genetic disease that is always fatal in toddlerhood. The Quinn Madeleine Foundation also serves as a wish-granting organization for children under age 3 who have been diagnosed with a terminal metabolic disorder. The Quinn Madeleine Foundation is located in Lynbrook, NY and their website is quinnmadeleine.org
