Congolese and international activists are fighting harder for peace every day in the home of the deadliest conflict since World War II. Corrupt political elites from Kinshasa to Washington D.C. are undercutting democracy and respect for the Congolese Constitution, and mining companies continue shady deals with little return for the Congolese people. Civilians and civil society leaders must overcome increasing violence in Kasai, Beni, and elsewhere to continue their life-saving programs.
