About the Experience
Attendees will be treated to a performance of excerpts from Amanda’s celebrated show What Would the Ancestors Say??, paired with behind-the-scenes storytelling about its creation and an expanded exploration of its themes. The evening will conclude with an interactive audience Q&A and book signing for Seales’ new release.

About the Book
What Would the Ancestors Say?? — adapted from Amanda Seales’ one-woman show — deftly blends humor and history, characters and commentary to pose two powerful questions:

  • “What would our ancestors say about the world we’re in now?”
  • “And what kind of ancestors will we be for the future?”

Developed over the past year through a series of free performances at The People’s Forum in New York City, the project has now evolved into a book that brings Seales’ signature wit and wisdom to the page.
