2022 Giving Season

Making the impossible possible!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This fall, we interviewed 37 students for 20 Streetleader positions for our AfterSchool Program. Our Streetleaders are teens hired to support the youth in the AfterSchool Program while receiving academic support.

Our Streetleader leadership staff struggled to choose our team this year because the candidates were terrific! In fact, if we had the funds, we would have hired more than 20 Streetleaders!

Eudora, one of our Streetleaders, shared this with our guests at our Sneaker Ball Gala:

"We make Urban Promise a safe and loving environment for not only each other but the kids. Seeing the kids every day after school is the highlight of my day."

We don't want to say no to the youth and teens participating in UPT. That is why it's critical for us to reach our 2022 Giving Season goal of $100,000. Right now, we are $39,000 away from meeting this critical funding goal.

Are you able to help us reach our goal?

2022 has been a great year at UPT, and it all happens thanks to the generosity of YOU, our friends, and supporters. For UPT to continue to grow and thrive, we need your support more than ever.

All of us at UPT are here because we are called to this work, to be servants in the way Jesus was and is a servant to us all. And that includes you. Together, we are part of a greater Kingdom and a greater mission.

The Dutch theologian Henri Nouwen said, "Asking people for money is giving them the opportunity to put their resources at the disposal of the Kingdom." Your gifts serve not just UPT but that Kingdom, the place of peace and hope, promised so long ago on a cold winter's night with the birth of a child in a stable.

$39,000 may seem like an impossible goal, but over the years, we have seen the impossible happen again and again. We have witnessed children served by UPT grow from first grade all the way to college. We know time, commitment, and community make the impossible possible.

On behalf of our Board of Trustees, staff, and most importantly, the youth, teens, and families of UPT, we wish you and your loved ones a Christmas season filled with joy.
