On 12/6/21 at around 4:30am, the chapter house boiler suffered a major mechanical failure which caused a small fire in the boiler room. While extinguishing the fire, water from the boiler hit the hot metal, causing parts to seize and crack. Due to supply and staffing shortages, repairing the boiler on short notice was not possible. On top of this, the temperature in Minneapolis is in the single digits and it's the last week of class before finals (the worst timing)!
Thus, the alumni association has worked with the actives to relocate them to temporary housing at an on-campus hotel while the proper repairs are made with the assistance of our property insurance. If you can, please consider helping our brothers in need by contributing to the temporary housing fund which will cover the cost of the hotels, meals, and other supplies while we complete the boiler rebuild.
Every dollar helps the alumni association make this situation as easy as possible for the actives while they study for finals. Xaipe!
