Serving over 200 clients in the past year, we offer the follwing individualized services for our clients:

Vocational Assessment

Autism Works uses a vocational assessment technique called Discovering Your Personal Genius. Our approach is structured specifically to address the challenges people with autism experience.

This assessment documents three main items:

• Interests and strengths

• Verification of skills and abilities

• Workplace environmental considerations, such as sensitivity to noise, smells, and lighting, etc.  

Once these items have been documented, you and the Autism Works Employment Consultant determine optimal work places for your job or career.

Job Placement Services

Autism Works provides job placement services based on the elements discovered during assessment. During this process, the individual receives:

• Hands-on collaboration researching optimal employers
• Visits with prospective employers to learn about the company
• Assistance navigating the application process, bypassing barriers to employment
• Communications coaching on appropriate job seeking techniques

Customized Social Coaching for the Workplace

Each coaching series is designed for the individual who is in need of the social skills that are critical for acquiring and retaining employment. We begin by assessing individual needs. Then we work directly with the individual on greatest areas of need. We can meet at the Autism Works social coaching office, in the individual’s home, or out in the community; whatever is needed to most help the individual.

Post-Secondary Navigation

When students on the autism spectrum reach post-secondary school environments, a new world is encountered in which individuals are in charge of their own academic planning.

Autism Works offers navigation services for students as they manage their new school and career planning responsibilities. Navigator services are provided by professional staff experienced in working in post-secondary environments and with adults on the autism spectrum.
