The oldest public school in the state of Louisiana, Warren Easton has educated the children of New Orleans since 1843. Now an open enrollment charter school, Easton offers all students an education rooted in a tradition of sound ethical, moral and social values in addition to strong academics. As a result, thousands of Easton graduates have gone on to become valued members of society. In their ranks are entrepreneurs, physicians, artists, educators, scientists, first responders, musicians, engineers, attorneys, judges, elected officials, and armed forces service men and women.


Because of its recent accomplishments, Warren Easton Charter High School has been the subject of numerous national media features, including reports on the People's Choice Awards, NBC Today Show, CNN, The Ellen Show, People Magazine, and NBC Nightly News.

1913     Moved to current location on Canal Street and renamed Warren Easton               High School

Actress Sandra Bullock, a major               benefactor of the school, was inducted as an honorary member in 2009.
