Giving Tuesday

#GivingTuesday is a day dedicated to supporting charitable organizations around the country. This year we are participating in hopes of raising enough funds to put additional veterans through our VetLaunch small business accelerator program. We have 15 applicants to our program this year, more than twice as many as our pilot program had last January! This means we need some extra resources to ensure we can reach our goal of accepting 10 veteran entrepreneurs.

Our Impact so Far: Last year in our pilot program we impacted five veteran owned businesses by mentoring them in legal, financial, and marketing from January to March 2015. The program culminated during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week where our veteran entrepreneurs faced off in a pitch competition for a $25,000 prize package. VetLaunch also identified and provided housing for 50 homeless veterans right here in New Orleans, creating a positive impact on our nation's neglected vets.  

The Road Ahead: We always want to add more veteran owned companies to the program so we can increase our impact on our veterans. This year we are hoping to double the program from five to 10 veteran entrepreneurs. VetLaunch also plans on implementing workforce development programs in the coming months to assist veterans who need jobs but may not want to be entrepreneurs. To accomplish these goals we need your help and support!
