New Orleans is home to vibrant communities, deep culture, and resilient families — yet too many residents face barriers to safe, affordable housing. Rising costs, aging homes, and systemic inequities threaten families’ ability to remain rooted in the neighborhoods they love.

People’s Housing+ is working to change that.

We are a New Orleans–based nonprofit dedicated to addressing the affordable housing crisis through development, preservation, and community-centered programs that create long-term housing stability.

Because of supporters like you, in 2025 People’s Housing+:

• Built 16 affordable single-family homes
• Empowered 300+ residents through financial literacy programming
• Provided 51 fortified roofs to protect homes from future storms
• Completed 150+ wills and succession planning documents to preserve generational wealth

These numbers represent families staying housed, neighborhoods staying whole, and futures being protected.

Looking ahead, People’s Housing+ plans to:

• Build 30 new affordable homes
• Provide 100 fortified roofs
• Expand our Stewardship Program
• Grow financial literacy programs, including youth support
• Expand the Community Land Trust model across New Orleans
