The Don "Moose" Jamison Heritage School of Music

Support free music education

Your support of the Don Jamison Heritage School of Music empowers music education. The Heritage School of Music, since 1990, has been providing more than 250 students ages 8-18 annually with high-quality in-depth after-school music training.

Students are offered instruments, and free music instruction from top-tier New Orleans musicians throughout the year- beginner to advanced.  The Heritage School of Music partners with NORD for vocal classes and operates a technical audio program.  Heritage School students perform at Jazz Fest and French Quarter Festival yearly and have other performance opportunities.

Please consider supporting impactful music education programs this holiday season with a donation to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation and the Heritage School of Music.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation invests proceeds from Jazz Fest and additional funds that we raise for year-round programming in education, economic development, and cultural enrichment.  Education Programs include the Don "Moose" Jamison Heritage School of Music, Tom Dent Congo Square Lectures, Class Got Brass competition for school brass bands, youth audio, and vocal workshops, and more!
