The Marigny Opera House opened its doors in November, 2011. For ten years we've been presenting some of New Orleans' finest artists, averaging two performances a week, almost all of them donation-based, with no one turned away for lack of funds. For the past decade we've presented classical concerts, jazz, singers, dancers, stage plays, musicals and more. We've been deeply involved in our community. The Opera House continues to be home to 12-step groups, and a host for memorial services as well as events for community groups like the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic, the LGBTQ Archives Project, One Book One New Orleans, Trystereo and more.
None of this would be possible without support from donors. Any gift goes a long way in helping us enter our 10th year.
Perhaps over the past year you've attended one of our many performances or events: a ballet to live music by our resident dance company, the Marigny Opera Ballet. Or a concert by jazz legend Helen Gillet. Or an opera perrformed by the acclaimed OperaCréole.
