We are excited that the city has completed a conservation report. Dr. Daniels recommended the preservation of more than 4000 acres of land in our community. Now, the community has to make choices as to how to prioritize land for preservation. We hope each one of you will participate in this process.
Preserve Rural Milton will be a voice for the cause as the city continues to develop its plan. At the present time, we are trying to create a list of community members who are in support of our cause. This will give us the ability to contact you when there is an important happening or issue in the community that is related to land preservation. It also gives us the ability to give the city and council the numbers behind our cause when we advocate for conservation programs and support preservation of the city's rural character. We recognize that not every citizen has the time to attend council meetings or to try to understand some of the more complex aspects of conservation. This is a way to put numbers of citizens behind our advocacy efforts and futher strengthen our voice.
As far as donations, no amount is too small or too large for that matter. Anonymous donations are also fine. The current fund will be used for educational programs and seed money to start more fundraising for eventual purchase conservation easements to save our community's open space and preserve rural character.
Are you sure?
