Jericho's Summer Learning Camp enriches the lives of our inner-city students in a few important ways:
- Combats “summer slide”, which affects students across the socioeconomic spectrum, but impacts kids who already struggle even harder. To a student that is already behind grade level, summer slide could lead to giving up and dropping out.
- Provides a safe & nurturing environment for kids to spend their summers, instead of home alone or out on the streets, while their parents work to put food on the table.
- Expands their horizons through field trips to fun and educational places.
- Equips them for success in school and teaches them biblical principles for every area of their lives
Each summer, 75 kindergarten through 5th graders participate in a seven-week, full-day camp that supports a child’s success, with the goal of improving the high school graduation rate in Danbury CT.
Jericho provides the program to families at a greatly reduced tuition that doesn’t fully cover operating costs. We rely on donor funding to close that gap.
Thank you in advance for your support.
