Until: 12/31/2025 12:00am Fortaleza Familiar pamelaImpact: Foster resilience and well-being among LGBTQ2S+ youth of color. Strengthen family support systems and community connections. Promote long-term health, safety, and empowerment for LGBTQ2S+ youth and their families. For many LGBTQ2S+ youth of color, the transition from childhood to adolescence to young adulthood can be exceptionally difficult. Young people of color face racism, discrimination and homo/transphobia at home, in school, in their communities and at medical establishments. Additionally, LBGT youth many times face difficulties with acceptance into established LGBT communities. To fit in, sometimes they need to resort to unhealthy habits observed in some of these communities, and often face interpersonal violence. Fortaleza addresses these health inequities experienced by LGBTQ2S+ youth of color, their families, relatives and their community by establishing positive environments that increase belonging, deliver culturally responsive programming, and develop healthy connections between youth, families, communities and wellness resources. 0 supporters $0 raised |
