Living with Heart at Home

GIVING HOPE AS WE SHELTER IN PLACE

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we will not have our annual Living with Heart Gala this year. With our 30th anniversary here, we were looking forward to thinking back on all the great work we have accomplished, in large part, due to the generosity of supporters like you. We understand this is a difficult time for everyone and we want to thank all of those who have continued to support us, even in these uncertain times. But, during these difficult times, there is still much hope to be found.

Our 30 years of providing safety and care for the vulnerable have equipped us for a moment like this. With a global health crisis and economic pain in our midst, our mission is even more apparent as we grapple to keep up with an increase in demand. This year we are opening new shelters, building new homes, and providing one on one care for people who are trying to make ends meet. We have seen a rise in economic instability, and with the cancellation of our gala, we are even more appreciative of those who can give. We will miss seeing you and we look forward to a time where we can once again celebrate all the hard work Mercy House has accomplished.

We strive to assist our residents in the areas of economic, emotional, and spiritual well-being in order to enhance self-esteem and a sense of personal pride. We value accountability, integrity, and self-sufficiency, the dignity of the individual person, and the corresponding respect that follows is the guiding principle of our service to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Mercy House first began providing shelter and services in 1990 and has been able to operate successful homeless service programs for over 30 years. Over the years, we have created a system of care based on a blend of housing first models of ending homelessness in accordance with our mission to permanently end the homelessness of those we serve. This includes operating a variety of programs ranging from homeless prevention, rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing, residential services, and affordable permanent housing facilities.
