Armistead Maupin’s iconic Tales of the City series, launched in 1976 as a groundbreaking serial in the   San Francisco Chronicle, blazed a trail through popular culture – from a sequence of eight globally bestselling novels, to a Peabody Award-winning television miniseries, to an ambitious new musical. The final Tales novel, The Days of Anna Madrigal, was released in January 2014. He is also the author of Maybe the Moon (1992) and The Night Listener (2000) and is a dedicated LGBT activist. Mr. Maupin is currently working on a memoir titled Logical Family (Fall 2017) which grew out of his critically acclaimed one-man show of the same name. He lives with his husband, Christopher Turner, a photographer.
