Peninsula Family Service

Peninsula Family Service provides vulnerable families, hidden in our community, a chance to achieve their dreams. Together we are creating a community where opportunity, financial stability, and wellness are secured for all. 

Founded in 1950, Peninsula Family Service has expanded to reach over 10,000 individuals annually from six weeks of age to over 103 years old. We currently operate in four counties - San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara and San Benito. 

Our Early Childhood Education program promotes school readiness for 500 children, and supports working families at 10 child development centers. We provide reliable and accessible full-time child development services on a sliding scale fee. 

Financial Empowerment services provide hard-working families with financial literacy and empowerment tools to reduce spending, increase savings, solve transportation issues, and elimate reliance on predatory lenders. The Second Careers Program aids older adults through job search, job coaching, application and resume assistance, and vocational and benefits assessments. 

Older Adult services include Fair Oaks Adult Activity Center which provdes exercise and fitness programs, nutritious meals, preventative health screenings, and enriching classes and activities. Senior Peer Counseling addresses the mental health needs of vulnerable odler adults. Our Transition of Care program partners with local medical centers to support older adults who have recently been released from the hospital to reduce readmission rates.
