It's that time of year again - Back to School. A time of excitement and nerves, where children begin new adventures. Thanks to Tandem supporters, right now, thousands of children will be entering school ready and excited.
Yet still, more than half of Bay Area children arrive at school without the kindergarten readiness skills they need to be successful.
We know the best way to prepare a child for school success is through joyful, interactive book-sharing at home. This simple, yet powerful routine fosters children’s curiosity and builds critical kindergarten readiness skills including persistence, self-regulation, and social and emotional skills, as well as language, literacy, math, and science foundations.
