Once every two years, 100 of the best long-distance riders from around the country are selected to participate in the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge, a 10,000-mile endurance ride through the United States. Keeping with the philanthropic spirit of Hoka Hey, each rider participates for a cause. The Orange Coast Harley Owners Group (OCHOG) is proud to have eight members chosen for the 2022 Hoka Hey Challenge. We will be riding in support of Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, our charity of choice, and complete this challenge for our nation’s deserving heroes.
As Americans, we are blessed to live in a country that is the brightest beacon for freedom, liberty and justice the world has ever known. We owe a debt of gratitude to the courageous men and women of the United States military for defending these principles. Since 2004, Warrior Foundation Freedom Station has cared for ill and injured heroes from all branches of service. From the moment they return from the battlefield, to the time they transition back into the community as civilians, the foundation has changed the lives of thousands of warriors on the road to recovery.
OCHOG has many veterans among our ranks. We have seen firsthand the incredible impact that Warrior Foundation Freedom Station has made in healing warriors in mind, body and spirit. Through numerous programs including quality-of-life items, support services and transitional housing, the foundation is improving the lives of veterans and active duty service members in measurable ways. That’s why they’ve earned our support for the past ten years.
The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge begins in Rapid City South Dakota on June 26, 2022 and is a unique opportunity to:
Please continue to watch this site for rider updates. During the event, we’ll be wearing tracking devices so you can monitor our progress as we make our way around this beautiful country of ours, honoring those who gave us the privilege to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Hoka Hey will test our fortitude and determination, forcing us to overcome obstacles along the way and gain newfound strength. In that sense, it is a metaphor for the journey of the injured warrior, for whom the war may be over but the battle has just begun to heal, adapt and overcome. Your support will make the difference. Please help us change lives and save lives by donating today!
Sincerely,
