The Orange Coast Harley Owners Group will host the 72-mile 13th Annual Injured Warrior Appreciation Ride (IWAR) from the Orange County Harley-Davidson in Irvine to Mt. Soledad Veteran’s Memorial in San Diego to benefit the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station.

The event will feature more than 200 flag-flying bikers in a visually stunning, patriotic ride stretching for miles. Proceeds from the IWAR ride benefit the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, a non-profit organization that provides support services and transitional housing to our nation’s ill and injured military heroes.

Registration starts at 7 a.m. with kick stands up (KSU) at 9 a.m. sharp. From Orange County Harley-Davidson in Irvine, we’ll make our way down the 5 freeway in a stunning display of American iron. The ride concludes at Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial, which is one of the most unique veterans’ memorials in the United States. The memorial has stood high on La Jolla’s Mt. Soledad since 1954 and pays tribute to more than 5,200 U.S. Veterans.

"We are honored once again to be able to host the Orange Coast Harley Owners Group for their 13th Annual Injured Warrior Appreciation Ride benefiting the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station here in San Diego,” said Neil O'Connell, Executive Director of the Mt. Soledad Memorial Association. “At the conclusion of their ride we will salute their patriotism compassion and support of our veterans and their families with a short ceremony on the steps of the Memorial."

“We are thrilled and honored to have the OCHOG once again select the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station the beneficiary of IWAR event!” said Sandy Lehmkuhler, CEO and Founder of Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. “We look forward to greeting, meeting and celebrating with the hundreds of motorcycle riders as they conclude their ride at Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial.”

“Part of the passion and joy of riding motorcycles, and Harley-Davidson’s in particular, is the feeling of freedom. The ability to do what we love is first and foremost due to those who have sacrificed so much before us, including so many veterans within our Chapter. We are truly honored to be able to help support such a wonderful organization as Warrior Foundation Freedom Station.” said Brian Weiske, Director of Orange Coast Harley Owners Group. “We lay down over a million miles a year as a Chapter and it's difficult to find such a beautiful, well-maintained, patriotic destination like Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial.”

Warrior Foundation Freedom Station’s mission is to act as the leading force in assisting, honoring, and supporting the military men and women who have so bravely served and sacrificed for our country. The foundation is committed to providing Warriors with quality-of-life items, support services and transitional housing designed to assist them and their families during recovery.
