Our community of underrepresented young entrepreneurs is already among the hardest hit in the country. They're typically self employed, and most are excluded from small business support such as the SBA emergency loans. Additionally, many of them have started food trucks, catering businesses, or restaurants, which are being particularly affected.
And this is the reason we exist — to help young underrepresented entrepreneurs overcome everyday challenges as well as the not so “everyday” challenges they may face.
To help small businesses stay open during these challenging times, we plan to dedicate the majority of our Friends & Family fund specifically to our Rise & Thrive Small Business Relief Campaign. This will provide emergency funding for Skysthelimit.org entrepreneurs who are impacted by the pandemic. Thankfully, funders like CVC Capital and Accenture have already stepped up to offer their support in building these additional funds.
