We are launching a merchandise line and to get it started we are starting a limited 1st edition run of these "End White Supremacy" T-shirts. This shirt is dedicated to the largest hurdle faced in black and brown communities. We want this shirt to be a conversation starter. How do you work to end white supremacy?
At HipHopForChange we teach about the inspiring history of Hip Hop culture and how culturally relevant self-expression can empower our youth. Our workshops cover the media's history of degrading black and brown people, and how 90% of all the Hip Hop music we see and hear is owned by three corporations that have financial ties to the prison industrial complex, thus aiding the school-to-prison pipeline. Our goal is to make sure the subsequent generations are aware of the systems that aim to make them statistics in this cycle of negativity, as well as the tools to break out of it
This new merchandise line will help us to diversify our funding. The more financially solvent we are, the more we can offer these free education programs that empower our youth! Thank you for your pledge to end white supremacy.
