Sobrato Family Foundation Challenge Grant

Help Project WeHOPE reach a match of $20,000 to help the homeless

Thanks to a generous 2:1 Challenge Grant from the Sobrato Family Foundation, Project WeHOPE will receive $2 up to $20,000 for every dollar donated if:

  1. you are a brand new donor and supporter of Project WeHOPE.
  2. you are an existing donor whose donation to this challenge is more than a previous contribution within the last 12 months.

We need your help in meeting this challenge before December 31, 2017!

Your contribution will help us continue to make vital connections and work toward a future in which everyone in East Palo Alto and surrounding communities have a home.  Contributions will help fund ongoing activities including our year-round shelter, case management for our clients, nutritious meals, chaplaincy services, and the following programs.

Supportive / Transitional Housing

A 120-day program that deals with the systematic issues of homelessness. Clients staying at the WeHOPE Shelter work closely with a case manager, receive priority access to educational and life skill courses, and work diligently on transitioning out of homelessness.

H.O.P.E. Jobs

Professional job training to become certified in high demand positions including security guard, food handler, and custodial technician. The training is open to shelter clients as well as all residents of San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

Dignity on Wheels

Innovative mobile hygiene units that meet the homeless where they are, providing showers, washers and dryers and connecting them with services essential for their return to self-sufficiency. Our two truck/trailers serve adults and families in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.

Kids NOW

Healthy food, including fruits, vegetables and packaged items for families with children through age 18, provided weekly in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank. The nutritious food helps to fill the gap on weekends for families whose children receive free meals at school.
