Support Dignity on Wheels

Rebuilding the lives of the homeless one shower and laundry load at a time.

ABOUT DIGNITY ON WHEELS

Dignity On Wheels is a new initiative by Project WeHOPE, where the goal is to reach homeless adults throughout the San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties who otherwise cannot make it to a shelter or facility, and provide them opportunities to take a shower, wash their clothes and perhaps receive some minor medical attention and a hot meal. The mobile trailer is custom designed to especially fit the needs of the clients, and to help Project WeHOPE be as efficient in cost and operations as possible.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
The task of reaching out to homeless adults in two counties 6 out of 7 days a week is no small task, and with it comes costs. Costs that can be helped through the generosity of YOU. Choose one of the monthly contributions at right.

If you are a professional who specializes in helping low-income, homeless, unhoused or at-risk adults, we'd also like to hear from you. That includes health nurses or doctors, social workers or housing professionals. Contact us today!

More about the program

  • As of February 26, 2017, Project WeHOPE worked with the City of San Jose Emergency Operations team and Red Cross Silicon Valley to help the San Jose flood victims. We are currently providing free showers and laundry to over 100 individuals and families who have been displaced by the devasating floods.
  • Dignity on Wheels launched in 2015 with one trailer. WeHOPE added a second trailer in 2016 to accommodate the demand and extend its outreach
  • Dignity on Wheels primarily serves San Mateo County and Santa Clara County, however, we have done one-off service within Alameda County
  • Dignity on Wheels regularly provides service as nine sites between the two counties, with Santa Clara County currently holding the most services
  • Because of Project WeHOPE’s efforts with Dignity on Wheels, California State Senator Jerry Hill (Dist 13, D-San Mateo) honored the organization as 2016 Nonprofit of the Year
