Light Up Gaza with SJP UMN

Help us raise money to send inflatable solar-powered lights to Gaza

The people of Gaza regularly experience rolling blackouts that leave them without electricity for extended periods of time. Rebuilding Alliance has organized a nation-wide campaing to raise money to send Luci Lights to Gaza. These solar-powered inflatable lights can provide up to 12 hours of light on a single charge. These lights go a long way in brightening up the homes of many Gazans to help them get through their daily lives.

Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Minnesota has joined the call to Light Up Gaza! We will be running our campaign until April 30. Besides this funding page, we will be fundraising at other events across the Twin Cities area. Additionally, we are hosting a soccer tournament to raise additional funds for the campaign.

We ask you to please help us with this wonderful campaign. Donate as little or as much as you can. Donating $10 will cover the cost of purchasing and shipping one Luci Light to Gaza.

Regarding how the lights will enter Gaza, here's a message from Rebuilding Alliance:

You ask, 'Will they let it in?'  YES, THEY PRE-CLEARED IT!  On February 18, 2016 the Government of Israel's Customs Directorate provided Tax Exemption Approval for Customs Clearance of Donation Destined to the PA, specifically to the Gaza Community Mental Health Programme in Gaza City!

All donations are tax-exempt. If you plan on making your contribution by sending in a check, please include 'Light Up Gaza with SJP UMN' in the memo.

All checks can be mailed directly to:
